A Century of Tradition

Since 1900, the Messina family has cultivated olive groves in the heart of Sicily — pressing every drop with the same care and passion passed down through five generations. A century of tradition, in every bottle.

Our Story

In the heart of Sicily, where the land is generous and the air is steeped in scent and tradition, the story of our family took shape. Fiordolivo's journey is one of dedication, passion, and love for our land — told through the unmistakable flavor of our olive oil. It is a story that begins with a single person, Rosario Messina, and unfolds across generations who share the same dream.

    Deep Roots

Our family's story in the world of olive oil began with pioneer Rosario Messina in the early 1900s. Committed to building a lasting legacy, Rosario opened a mill in Santa Maria di Licodia, at the foot of Mount Etna. Together with his devoted daughters Lina and Grazia, he laid the foundation for what would become a mark of excellence in olive oil.

    The Messina Family Grows

As the family expanded, sons Sebastiano and Giuseppe opened a new mill in Santa Maria Ammalati — exploring the other side of Mount Etna. This marked the official beginning of the Messina family's olive oil tradition.

    The Mill

In 1950, Sebastiano took control of the family business at the Santa Maria Ammalati mill. Five years later, his son Rosario joined him, bringing fresh ideas and energy. Their shared vision came to life in 1969 when they added a bottling line to the mill — another chapter in the company's steady growth.

    Acireale

In 1978, the Messina family moved to Acireale, opening a modern continuous-cycle olive mill. Here they continued producing high-quality olive oil while expanding operations with oil packaging. The company remained at the forefront of the industry throughout the years.

The passion for olive oil runs in the Messina family's veins. In 1990, Rosa — Rosario's daughter — joined forces with her father. Having grown up at the mill, her dedication was evident from day one. Today, Rosa continues to carry the family legacy forward, creating a new line of products that combine culinary artistry with the richness of Sicilian land — an experience known and appreciated around the world.

Fiordolivo extra virgin olive oil is obtained from olives grown on the slopes of Etna, in predominantly volcanic soil.
